First time i have read the first hand accounts from the ordinary german soldiers and the terrible combat they went through durin

Fascinating read from the german perspective of d-day. although i have read many accounts from the allied side, first time i have read the first hand accounts from the ordinary german soldiers and the terrible combat they went through during the invasion. also interesting was to read their political views and their belief that they were fighting for a unified europe under germany. hard to put down and full of action.

A believable account through interviews

Not really a "book"more of an article. well worth the money and the time to look into the other side of the beach. technical and tactical details were very good without being overwhelming. the interviewer used very judicious leads. there may have been some hindsight massaging of soldiers attitudes but overall very down to earth.
